This issue of the Nordic Journal of African Studies has been coordinated by the guest editors, Prof. Lutz Marten, Dr Andrew van der Spuy, and Dr Kristina Riedel.

Prof. Marten is Professor of General and African Linguistics in the Department of the Languages and Cultures of Africa and the Department of Linguistics, and Dean of the Faculty of Languages and Cultures, at the School of Oriental and African Studies, London.

Dr van der Spuy is a Senior Lecturer in Linguistics at the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa.

Dr Riedel is Head of the Department of Linguistics and Language Practice, University of the Free State, Bloemfontein, South Africa.
